Our laying hens produce eggs for several years and then spend the rest of their days peacefully, still with the flock, as Grandmothers. It's only fair. Our laying hens are pastured. They live in a clean and healthy environment with shelter from predators and the weather.

Roosters... Well, if yur not *workin' and yur eatin'... yur gettin' recycled.

Everything is raised using natural sustainable practices. In other words, everything possible is recycled, cleaning materials are biodegradable, pest controls are by design or organically acceptable. We do have to bring in grain and hay to make up for the nutrient loss incurred from products (eggs, ect.) leaving our system. We use a well for water and will be switching to rainwater recovery as a further conservation measure.

*Workin': Females is always workin'. Males is only workin' if Females sez they is.
